Webb3. 3 Theory: The OFITE Model 900 Viscometer is a true Couette coaxial cylinder rotational viscometer, which employs a transducer to measure the induced angle of rotation of the bob by a fluid sample. The test fluid is contained in the annular space, or shear gap, between the rotor and the bob, which is attached to a shaft with a biasing spring. In the course of measuring, shear rates J were increased sequentially up to values of 103 s–1.
