Web9 de abr. de 2024 · The uterus is a pear-shaped organ, approximately 8 cm long, 5 cm at its widest part and 2.5 cm or less at its thickest part (Fig. 1) (Mann et al. 2012; Basmajian 1971; Siddall and Rubens 2005 ). It is composed of three distinct anatomic regions, namely the fundus, the body and the cervix. The cervix is part of the female reproductive system. Around 2–3 centimetres (0.8–1.2 in) in length, it is the lower narrower part of the uterus continuous above with the broader upper part—or body—of the uterus.
