WebThe Great North Run welcomes the use of wheelchairs, assisted or self-propelled. All wheelchair entrants are started at the back of their wave. Free places for guides/support runners can be issued for visually impaired runners. Guides or support runners will also receive a finisher's medal, t-shirt and recovery bag when they cross the finish line.
